First Medical Hypnosis Emergency
My first significant use of medical hypnosis was during a Broadway show during a visit to New York. During the performance, they stopped the show and asked if there was a doctor in the audience. My husband and I ran down to the orchestra level. The man was lucky, there were 4 doctors and 1 cardiac care nurse. They took care of the man who had the heart attack. I was used to doing the actual CPR but this time I found myself administering verbal emergency hypnosis to the wife of the heart attack victim (whose father had just died 3 days prior due to a heart attack). The poor wife was decompensating. She thanked me on the way out as the paramedics took her husband to the ambulance.
I was hooked.
