Chronic pain is defined lasting more than 6 months.
People over 65 are the least likely to report chronic pain, while those aged 45 to 64 are most likely.
More women than men, more whites than blacks.
Low-back pain is most common. Then headaches, migraines and neck pain.
Chronic pain costs $100 billion a year for care, lost income and reduced productivity.
